WINTER IS UPON US…
Winter weather conditions require students to be prepared for the outdoors. As articulated in Board Policy 221, normal outdoor routine will continue until the temperature of wind chill reaches that which was determined by the parent council. VISITORS TO THE SCHOOL
The safety of your children is of utmost importance to us. It is imperative that the staff know the identity of all visitors to the school and the purpose of their visits. All parents, visitors and/or volunteers must sign in at the office and pick up a visitor’s tag.
Rosary Apostolate at SJW
It is truly a privilege to have volunteers from the Rosary Apostolate visit St. Joseph the Worker. Volunteers are called “Rosary Visitors”. They will bear witness to their faith by teaching children to love Jesus with the Heart of Mary by praying the Rosary. A huge congratulations to Jakob for placing 2nd at the Regional Oral Communications competition held at Holy Name. Jakob’s speech was on “The Fear of Failure”! He approached the topic from a personal and rational perspective, integrating his Catholic beliefs into his message. Jakob spoke with confidence and conviction which likely helped him engage his audience and convey his ideas effectively.

2024 Lenten Mass
On March 21, 2024 the York Catholic District School Board celebrated the third annual board-wide Lenten Mass of Renewal and Reconciliation. Livestreamed to the board’s 50,000 students, the Mass featured the talented students of St Edward Catholic Elementary School and St Brother Andre Catholic High School, in Markham, who performed the music and helped with the readings.
