Our school is proud to launch the SJW Words Matter – “Say No to Slurs” Campaign, an initiative focused on building empathy, kindness, and a positive school culture.
On February 18th, 20th, and 23rd, administrators will visit classrooms to share the powerful “Wrinkled Heart” story. In this activity, students wrinkle a paper heart each time unkind words are spoken. Even after it is smoothed out, the creases remain—demonstrating how hurtful words can leave lasting marks.
This campaign reminds us that words have power. By choosing respectful language, we help create a school where everyone feels valued, supported, and included—because words truly matter.
