Our School

Welcome to the St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Elementary School Website. St. Joseph the Worker Catholic School is a large school located in Thornhill, in the city of Vaughan, which is part of York Region. Our website has been developed to ensure that you have easy access to school newsletters and important information and updates. We also send out information via email each month, so please contact the school office to update your email contact information, should you wish to receive email notifications. You can also follow us on our school Twitter Account: SJW_YCDSB.

Currently, there are approximately 430 students attending the school. The school is over 25 years old and serves the needs of students from kindergarten to grade 8. Over the years, the population of the school has become more diverse and multicultural. Presently, we offer the French Immersion program for students in grades 1 through 4, as well as the regular English stream for students in kindergarten through to grade 8.

The school property is adjacent to St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church. We work closely with our pastor, Father Mario, through the celebration of masses, para-liturgies and preparation for the sacraments. We also work closely with our Catholic School Council (parent council). They support the school through volunteering, fundraising, even-planning, and the organizing of weekly lunch programs.

We have a well balanced curriculum and our EQAO scores reflect a hardworking student population, supportive parents and a well qualified staff. St. Joseph The Worker School also enjoys a partnership with the St. Joseph the Worker Child Care Centre, attached to the school building. The Child Care Centre also runs a before and after school program that services approximately 100 students. The Child Care is known for its excellent programs and homemade food, served daily to the children. Please contact Fabia Di Sotto for more information: 905-660-3527.
